Art Notes
Heroes are not born, they are found. From soldiers across the stars to simple folk on the fringes of space, individuals chasing their destinies are at the forefront of the Star Wars™ mythos. This piece takes us all back to one of its first icons: Luke Skywalker™. The farm boy turned Jedi Knight and Rebel hero stands ready. Not as who he is, but what he can become. At the start of his journey, Luke has only his dreams to carry him. He is still the isolated youth, trapped on the mundane and desolate sands of Tatooine™. The binary sunset, a symbol of Luke’s yearning for more, emerges from the clouds behind him. Both he and Tatooine’s twin suns will not be hindered, instead rising above any darkness. While Luke is adorned in his moisture farming tunic, he still wields his father’s lightsaber. Hues of black and white unify this image, as Luke’s past and future self collide. And when he dreams of all that was and what could be, a new hope will emerge.
