Art Notes

In many cultures, courage, loyalty, and a thirst for freedom are characteristics that define the nature of the wolf. In my latest Animal Accents painting, I try and capture these attributes as well as the physical majesty of these wild spirits as they rest in pack. In Winter Guard the evening cold and the coming dark create a silence over the snow shrouded landscape. The wolf pack leader peers into the dim assessing the view for signs of danger and intrusion. The howl of his fellow fills the air to provide warning of the huddled group to others of their kind. The territory is theirs to roam and hunt as the next day dawns. I hope you enjoy this homage to these magnificent animals, and, as always, thank you for sharing my adventures in art.
